There are generally five types of ball valve bodies: single body, three-piece body, split type, jack-in type and welded type.

Single-piece ball valve

As the name suggests, one-piece ball valves are made of one-piece ball valves, which are different from 2-piece and 3-piece ball valves. This means that the valve cannot be disassembled for cleaning. Since the valve body is one piece, a smaller ball must be used, resulting in a shrinking port, usually called a shrinking hole.

Three-piece ball valve

The three-way ball valve has three ports or openings, which are connected with pipes or pipes for gas or fluid flow (medium) to pass through. These ports are usually described as one inlet and two outlets or one outlet and two inlets, depending on the direction of flow through the valve

Split ball valve

The side-entry split valve body of the trunnion ball valve has an obturator bounded by the trunnion, which does not allow the ball itself to undergo axial displacement in the direction of flow; pipeline pressure compresses the valve seat onto the ball, and the contact between the surfaces produces the valve is sealed.

Socket ball valve

Socket welding is a type of pipe connection detail in which the pipe is inserted into a recessed area of a valve, fitting, or flange. Compared with butt welded pipe fittings, socket welded pipe fittings are mainly used for small pipe diameters, such as pipes with a nominal diameter of NPS 2 or smaller.

Welded ball valve

This valve design achieves maximum strength with minimal weight and high resistance to internal and external loads in the pipeline.
